BOTANY and BIRD WATCHING

The two groups have combined and meet on Friday mornings for a trip to an area where they can enjoy both bird watching and botany. They usually meet in in the Meadowfield Car Park in Ponteland at 9.30am.

The birdwatchers still take part in walks in conjunction with the Regional group.

PHOTOGRAPHY

One of the newest groups in Ponteland U3A meets on the 4th Friday morning in the month. It aims to look at a wide range of photographic projects such as visits to locations of interest, picture taking throughout the seasons and in unusual lighting conditions as well as basic photography for beginners. Recent trips have been to Warkworth, Hexham and Washington Wildfowl Centre. Winter meeting usually cover discussions on techniques, the many facilities on modern cameras and display and mounting methods.
