ART GROUPS

Ponteland U3A has two art groups.

ART GROUP l

This group meets at 10am every Wednesday during term time at St Mary's Church Hall, Thornhill Road, Ponteland

This is a self supporting group which benefits, occasionally, from advice from visiting tutors and demonstrators. This encourages use of a wider range of media although most members choose to work in water colours. These painting are displayed for the appreciation of U3A members at our Annual general meeting.

At the moment there is a waiting list.

ART GROUP ll

This group meets at 10pm every Wednesday during term time at Merton Hall, Ponteland.

The group are experimenting with a variety of different media - water colours, pastels, drawing only and acrylics, or practising other forgotten skills. We have a tutor who helps with suggestions and gives practical demonstrations. One member entered two paintings in the village flower show and won a trophy for the best exhibit overall, in a very high standard of entries. This was a big encouragement to the group.

Members pay toward the cost of the room hire.
