Prudhoe & District U3A extends a warm welcome to you all
Prudhoe & District U3A was formed in 2007. We now have over 100 members in our group and would love more people to join us. We are a friendly organisation with lots of activities and interests.
The U3A is not about study and qualifications, it is about members improving their quality of their lives by getting together to share interests and join in activities.
Our members are from all walks of life and are either retired or part time working. We all have different life experiences to share with each other.
There is nothing specifically academic in the original meaning of the word university, it stems from the latin “universitas” : meaning the whole or a number of persons together.
We meet every last Monday in the month at St Mary Magdalene Parish Hall Front Street Prudhoe. 10am-12noon. During the meetings we have interesting speakers who talk about a wide range of subjects and we finish with refreshments, a very friendly social gathering.
We also meet the 2nd Tuesday in the month from 2pm at the same venue. This is a drop in afternoon. Members may bring crafts to do, play scrabble etc. or just sit, laugh and socialise and of course have tea/coffee and biscuits. We have on occasions people who come in and demonstrate their craft work. Everyone is welcome.
