Further Information about Newcastle U3A

NEWCASTLE U3A is a self-help organisation for men and women who are no longer in full time gainful employment, providing opportunities for members to share common interests and hobbies. Groups are run by members and meet at times to suit Group Leaders.

All activities are self supporting - groups sharing costs. Members pay an annual subscription. In addition, a small charge is made at every monthly meeting to cover hire of room, speakers' fees and refreshments. We welcome anyone living in Newcastle and the surrounding area to our coffee morning on the 3rd Friday of the month between 10.30am and noon, at St John's Church Hall, Grainger Street, where you will be given information and meet some of the members in a friendly atmosphere. You may also visit our monthly meeting, which is held in the city centre on the second Wednesday of each month, by prior arrangement.

There may be a U3A nearer to you.

Contact the number below and we will try to help. If there isn't a U3A in your area, the Regional Development Committee may consider starting one if there is enough interest.

You can email us at newcastleu3a@hotmail.com or telephone 0191 2304430 between 10.30am-3.30pm or call into our centre at 1 Pink Lane (opposite the Central Station) during these times - a phone call beforehand would be useful as our centre in Pink Lane is not always manned.
